MEET A DREAM-MAKER: BRITTANY

A dream is nothing without the will to make it a reality.

Brittany is the definition of a dream-maker. It’s been incredible to watch her for 5 years, rapidly progressing from fielding the front desk to become our Account Manager.

Brittany always jokes that she “wears many hats” – there’s few who do it with such style and skill. As Account Manager, she is a print solutions specialist. Solutions are exactly what she finds all across the company – she also excels at shipping, fulfillment, production, and providing for the customer’s ever-evolving needs.

Brittany has always been the kind of person who sees no barriers to cross, only obstacles to overcome. It’s an ethos she shares with the company.

“There’s no difference between a man or a woman working here.”

From the moment Brittany set foot on the press floor for the first time, she was willing and able to learn anything she set her mind to. Brittany remains on the rise as she inks the impossible. Her work ethic and camaraderie with all the other phenomenal women of Blooming Color are an inspiration. As Brittany looks forward, as she turns dreams into realities, she smiles when she sees the future – and the future is female.

MEET AN ICON OF INSPIRATION: ISABEL

There’s only one thing it’s impossible for us to imagine – Blooming Color without Isabel. She’s been with us for 10 years, and she inspires us every day.

As Bindery Team Lead, Isabel is not only a leader on the press floor – she’s our ultimate defense. She makes sure the colors are correct, the pages are in order, that the folds are clean – ensuring that our production is flawless.

Her skill alone makes her an indispensable member of the Blooming Color family, but on top of that she’s an incredibly hard worker, routinely hungry for new opportunities and to learn new skills.

Even after a decade of inking the impossible, she still works the machines with a smile. To see her fly around the floor, zooming around and zipping through projects, you wonder how she could rise any higher: and then she does it again.

This dream-making machine is powered by pride in her work and in her heritage.

“Being a Latina makes me feel so proud, because some people don’t expect that we’re operating machines, or in charge on a project.

My goal is to inspire more women to dream,” she smiles. “If you want, you can ink the impossible.

PORTRAIT OF A PRINT LEADER: ROSEMARIE

Rosemarie Breske Garvey is the epitome of a professional.

As President of Blooming Color, she brings a driven energy and forward-thinking desire to change the industry from the inside out.

“One of the things you’ll notice when you look across the industry,” remarks Rosemarie, “is that there are not a lot of women, especially not in leadership positions.”

Rosemarie is part of only 20% of companies with women executives in the US. We’ve seen this disparity firsthand at conferences and panels. The same men, recycling the same strategies, year in and year out. It was time for a change. Along came Rosemarie.

Hailing from a background in commercial banking, her rapid learning, quick decision-making and brilliant acumen quickly rose her through the ranks at Blooming Color.

Alongside CEO Brian Scott, Rosemarie has overseen Blooming Color’s evolution from a printing company with excellent technology, to a technology company that excels at print.

“This is a business of ideas as much as ink itself,” she states.

Under Rosemarie’s leadership, Blooming Color is powered not just by innovation, but by relationships – long-standing partnerships built on trust, opportunity, encouragement, and mutual respect. Rosemarie knows full well the importance of teamwork. She studied music in college – the press floor works in perfect harmony because she’s not just conducting: she’s part of the orchestra.

“No job is beneath anyone, so every day at 2pm you’ll find me on the bindery floor.”

Her day begins before 6, checking in with the press team and verifying FTP transfers for international clients that came in the night before. Then she divides her busy day between lending a hand in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, and making executive moves for the future. That includes a hiring practice deliberately focused on diverse racial and gender backgrounds.

“People’s experiences matter. Where they come from matters. What they have to offer matters.” As the industry shifts away from its male-dominated origins and Blooming Color continues to make diverse hires, Rosemarie invites and inspires more women to join the future.

“I don’t like to talk much about ‘breaking glass ceilings’, but as the industry becomes more technology-based, it’s a tremendous time for women to be entering the industry.”
